Nicki Minaj And Nas Seal 'Right By My Side' Video With A Kiss

Rap superstars get cozy in just-premiered clip, which also features Chris Brown.By Rob Markman Nicki Minaj and Nas in her "Right By My Side" video Photo: Cash Money/Young Money/Universal Music Nicki and Nas —it has a nice ring to it, doesn't it? It's no secret that Nicki Minaj has a flair for the dramatic, and on Wednesday (May 16), when she debuted her "Right by My Side" video on MTV, Nicki surprised many by casting the Queensbridge rap great as her leading man. The bright and cheery video opens with a pensive Nicki seated in a high-backed chair fit for a queen; her mind is clearly elsewhere, unaware of the camera's gaze. Only a few seconds pass before Nas struts into the scene and the two lean in to share a smooch only to find their lives subjected to a rewind sequence before their lips touch. "It all comes down to this, I miss your morning," Nicki sings on cue as the viewer is taken back in time. It's all pretty rosy as the lovesick couple share deep conversation and an inside joke as Nas hands his honey a silver dollar, which she flips into a wishing well. The clip has all the makings of a Nicholas Sparks romance flick: There's PDA, hand-holding, shopping trips and outdoor lunches. In one scene, Nas — who sports his trademark half-moon Caesar and big-framed 1980s-inspired glasses — surprises Nicki with a new car, topped off with a pink bow, of course. The reigning rap queen is so excited she leaps into his open arms. When Chris Brown shows up for his guest verse and duet-styled hook, he is set outside of the video's story line, delivering passionate performance scenes but never interrupting the two lovebirds. Breezy is no doubt a superstar, but he sits as a third wheel on Nicki and Nas' romantic ride. The vibe of the soft love song switches by the time the Female Weezy's rap verse rolls in. It's quite the verbal display as she sits beside Nas, wearing his hoodie and rapping in double-time of her own sexual prowess. "My p---y game so cold, that he always seem to come back/ 'Cause he knows that it be a wrap when I'm riding it from the back," she spits while wearing God's Son's oversized medallion around her neck. For the most part, the couple can't stay away from each other, but there is clearly some separation between the two lovers, even if only for a brief, undefined moment. In the closing scene, a lonely and longing Nicki sits on a park bench under a full moon with a sullen look on her typically animated face. Her frown is quickly remedied when Nas pulls up besides his boo and takes a seat next to her. They first hug and then share a deep and sensual kiss that is sure to get the rumor mill spinning out of control. What did you think of Nicki Minaj and Nas' kiss in the "Right By My Side" video? 'American Idol' Report Card: Joshua Ledet Soars Again, Hollie Cavanagh Climbs

The top six tackled Queen songs and their own picks; here's how they did.By Gil Kaufman Joshua Ledet performs on "American Idol" Photo: FOX It was clear from the opening medley on Wednesday night that Queen night was going to be a struggle for some "American Idol" top six. Ironically, it was the three leading contenders
, Joshua Ledet, Skylar Laine and Jessica Sanchez who seemed most uncomfortable, which did note bode well for the evening. With the only real sort of-rocker, Colton Dixon
, booted last week, that meant it was do-or-die time for anyone hoping to make it to next months' finale. And despite a shaky start, Ledet may have punched his card to the finale, where he is likely to face slow-and-steady Phillip Phillips, while Sanchez and Laine just kind of coasted. Despite what Steven and Jennifer said time-and-again, none of these performances are likely to go into the "Idol" all-time vault, but a decent night all around. So, who deserves a coronation? Who fell down and broke their crown? Read on for our "American Idol" report card! Joshua Ledet: Once again, Ledet nailed it, taking a song that could have seriously tripped him up and wrestling it to the ground with some old-school soul. The bass-slapping Sam Cooke run through "Crazy Little Thing Called Love" was crazy good and the vintage mic was a real nice touch. This dude's got it so in the bag that he sang an obscure India.Arie song, "Ready For Love" that features the lyric "respects the spirit world," and he still killed it (softly). The only way this guy doesn't make it to the finale is if his voicebox has a run-in with Metta World Peace's elbow. A Jessica Sanchez: "Bohemian Rhapsody?" Wow, really Bebe? The Polly Pocket diva picked the dragon slayer and, well, brought a dagger to a sword fight. The first part sounded like a Beyoncé B-side, with a kind of cool R&B flavor, but once the dinky pyro blasted and she "rocked" it up, well, it was all high school musical. Steven said it best, "rock isn't your forte." Sanch pulled the military veteran daddy's girl card for the Luther Vandross power ballad "Dance With My Father" and predictably blew it out the box. She actually held back, which was a sly, impressively professional move for a kid who might not even have her driver's license yet. If the girl voters can avert their eyes from dreamy Phil Phillips for two seconds, she may make it ... to the top three. B+ Phillip Phillips: Hand it to Philly Phil, he picked a song that allowed him to take a half-step out of his DMB prison, growling through "Fat Bottomed Girls" with, yes, enthusiasm and spirit. He still looks and sounds like the leader of fairly decent bar band, but his charisma finally translated for me. After months of paying homage, Phil answered his phanatics' prayers and played an actual Dave Matthews cover. And, Phil being Phil, he grunted to the converted by picking a deep, deep track. "The Stone" was subtle, bubbling and kind of boring. His good looks might get him close to the finish line, but at some point if you don't listen to anyone, nobody's going to listen to you, either. B+ Skylar Laine: Laine did about what you'd expect, putting some fiddle on the widescreen ballad "The Show Must Go On." She kind of made it her own, but looked and sounded uncharacteristically out-of-place at the beginning, like she was singing carols at an old-age home and never really connected with the lyrics. Randy thought it was one of her best performances, but then again, Randy was wearing a pin that said, "Yo," so... Her take on Jason Aldean's "Tattoos on This Town" was good, I guess. It sounded like a solid mid-tempo country ditty, but didn't show us any new facets of her musical personality. She's either saving some gas for the final stretch or starting to run on fumes. B Hollie Cavanagh: Of all the Queen tracks, half-Brit Hollie chose "Save Me?" The generic ballad was actually perfect for the generic singer, who once again brought a Dusty Springfield-style white girl soul to a song that didn't quite have enough lift to make her stand out. Lopez felt the emotion, but she was right, Hollie just doesn't seem like she's having fun, and neither were we. Since she's one step from the ledge every week, Cavanagh dipped back into her bag of tricks and covered Miley Cyrus' "The Climb" again. Eh, it was perfectly acceptable, but I'll probably forget about it by the time I finish this sentence. Pack up those piles of doll clothes kid, if it's not this week, it's next. C+ Elise Testone: With her tambourine, Elise looked more like a back-up singer on "I Want It All" than a potential "Idol." Her vocals were solid and the crowd was way into it, but all those weeks in the bottom three appear to have drained some of the confidence and fire in her eyes. It might have been too little, too late. Of all the songs in the universe, Elise picks a Jimi Hendrix tune. Fine, but "Bold as Love?" What young America wants to hear is songs about "shiny metallic purple armor" and "happy turquoise armies." It was gutsy, but weird, and not in the way she probably intended. Might as well start walking to those stools now, honey. C- Get your "Idol" fix on MTV News' "American Idol" page, where you'll find all the latest news, interviews and opinions. Brad Pitt And Angelina Jolie: A Timeline Of Their Relationship

We take a look back at the seven-year relationship between two of the world's biggest movie stars.By John Mitchell Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt in 2007 Photo: Getty Images That noise you just heard was the heads of celebrity tabloid editors' heads exploding in unison at the news that Brad Pitt finally put a ring on it and proposed to Angelina Jolie. Rumors of an engagement began to swirl when Jolie was spotted at a private viewing at the Los Angeles County Museum of Art's Chinese galleries on Wednesday rocking quite a sparkler on her ring finger. Pitt's manager Cynthia Pett-Dante confirmed the engagement to People, saying, "It is a promise for the future and their kids are very happy." The pair have been together for seven years and have six children. Their love story has been documented like crazy by the tabloids, but in honor of their long-overdue engagement, we decided to take a look back at the highlights of their relationship to show you how they got from meeting on a movie set to preparing to walk down the aisle. » Summer 2004: Pitt and Jolie meet on the set of "Mr. & Mrs. Smith." Rumors of an on-set romance begin almost immediately, though both deny the allegations, saying they are just friends. » January 2005: Pitt and then-wife Jennifer Aniston announce that they have decided to formally separate after nearly five years of marriage and more than seven years together. » March 2005: Aniston files for divorce, citing "irreconcilable differences." » April 2005: Paparazzi photos of Pitt, Jolie and her adopted son Maddox on a beach in Kenya surface, seeming to confirm long-standing rumors that the pair are a romantic item. » July 2005: Pitt and Jolie pose for a photo shoot for Wmagazine entitled "Domestic Bliss," portraying them as a family with several children. Though rumors that they were a serious item had reached a fever pitch, they continued to refuse to confirm anything. Following the paparazzi images of the couple together in Kenya, many considered the shoot a major affront to Aniston, as her divorce from Pitt had not yet been finalized. » July 6, 2005: Jolie adopts her second child, 6-month-old daughter Zahara Marley, from an orphanage in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia. » October 2, 2005: Pitt and Aniston's divorce is finalized by the Los Angeles Superior Court. » January 11, 2006: Jolie confirms to People that she is pregnant with her first child with Pitt. » January 19, 2006: A judge grants Jolie's request to legally change the last names of her adopted children from Jolie to Jolie-Pitt. Pitt's legal adoption of both Maddox and Zahara was granted soon after. » May 27, 2006: Jolie gives birth to the couple's first biological child, daughter Shiloh Nouvel Jolie-Pitt, in Swakopmund, Namibia. Shiloh's first pictures were sold exclusively to People and OK for $4.1 million and $3.5 million, respectively, and all of the cash was donated to charities benefiting African children. » October 2006: Voicing his support for same-sex couples seeking equal marriage rights, Pitt tells Esquire magazine that he and Jolie would marry "when everyone else in the country who wants to be married is legally able." » March 15, 2007: Jolie adopts 3-year-old Pax Thien from an orphanage in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam. Because Vietnam's adoption regulations do not allow unmarried couples to co-adopt, Jolie adopted Pax as a single parent, but filed a request to legally change her son's surname from Jolie to Jolie-Pitt a month later. » May 2008: After much speculation, while promoting "Kung Fu Panda" at the Cannes Film Festival, Jolie confirms that she and Pitt are expecting twins. » July 12, 2008: Jolie gives birth to a son, Knox Léon, and a daughter, Vivienne Marcheline, in Nice, France. As they did following Shiloh's birth, Pitt and Jolie sold the rights for the first images of the twins jointly to People and Hello! for $14 million (the most expensive celebrity pictures ever taken) with proceeds going to their Jolie-Pitt Foundation. » October 15, 2008: Jolie ignites controversy after telling The New York Times that she is excited for her children to see "Mr. & Mrs. Smith" because "not a lot of people get to see a movie where their parents fell in love." Both Pitt and Jolie had long maintained that while there was chemistry on the set of "Smith," Pitt did not cheat on Aniston during production and began his relationship with Jolie after they'd separated. » November 2008: In an interview with Vogue, Jennifer Aniston says that Jolie's comment to the NYT that she an Pitt fell in love on the set of "Smith" was "uncool." "I felt those details were a little inappropriate to discuss," Aniston said. "That stuff about how she couldn't wait to get to work every day? That was really uncool." » July 5, 2011: Praising New York on passing marriage equality legislation, Pitt reaffirmed to People that he and Jolie will not marry until all Americans are afforded marriage rights. » September 2011: Pitt finds himself embroiled in controversy after telling Parade, "I wasn't living an interesting life myself. I think that my marriage had something to do with it. Trying to pretend the marriage was something that it wasn't." This was, as usual, scooped up by the tabloids as if he were hurling an insult at Aniston, and much of his "Moneyball" press tour was spent explaining that he was simply at a bad place in his life near the end of his marriage and that his relationship with Jolie reinvigorated him. » December 2011: Promoting her directorial debut "In the Land of Blood and Honey," Jolie tells Christiane Amanpour that her kids were pressing her to get married. "The kids asked me the other day, and I asked them if it was just because they wanted to have a 'big cake,' " Jolie said. "They see movies that have the people getting married in the movies ... you know, the happily ever after. Shrek and Fiona are married. ... We've explained to them that our commitment when we decided to start a family was the greatest commitment you could possibly have. Once you have six children, you're committed." » January 2012: Pitt co-signed Jolie's statement that their children were pushing them down the aisle. "We'd actually like to," he told The Hollywood Reporter of marrying Jolie, "and it seems to mean more and more to our kids. We made this declaration some time ago that we weren't going to do it till everyone can. But I don't think we'll be able to hold out. It means so much to my kids, and they ask a lot. And it means something to me, too, to make that kind of commitment." Those spoiled Jolie-Pitts, always getting what they want! Related Photos Lovebirds: Brad Pitt And Angelina Jolie
