'I'm a little nervous for 'Harry Potter,' ' says one analyst, noting that 'Deathly Hallows, Part 2' is up against 'Hunger Games' and latest 'Twilight' installment.By Josh Wigler Daniel Radcliffe in "Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows - Part 2" Photo: Warner Bros. Eight films. Seven books. And now, at the 2012 MTV Movie Awards, the magic number is six for "Harry Potter" fans: That's the amount of nominations earned by the final film in the epic fantasy series, "Deathly Hallows, Part 2." As the grand "Potter" finale, "Deathly Hallows" represents the last opportunity for wizards and witches alike to band together and win the elusive Movie of the Year award, among other statuettes — but the battle won't be easy for fans, according to the experts. "I'm a little nervous for 'Harry Potter' [at the Movie Awards]," Hypable.com's Andrew Sims told MTV News about the nominations. "This is the only year that 'The Hunger Games,' 'Twilight' and 'Harry Potter' are all competing, in some cases head-to-head." Indeed, those three massive franchises are going up against each other — all three are nominated for Movie of the Year and Best Kiss — though many believe the real showdown will be between "Hunger Games" and "Potter," particularly in the Best Female Performance race. That category includes both Jennifer Lawrence as girl-on-fire Katniss Everdeen and Emma Watson as brilliant witch Hermione Granger, and it's bound to be an epic showdown. "It's going to be tough because Katniss is such a strong female lead, and people are obsessed with her strength and her character," said Julia Hodges of DanRadcliffe.com and RupertGrint.net. "But we have a history with Hermione. Maybe people will really acknowledge her for all of the amazing work." Daniel Radcliffe's footing in the Best Male Performance race is a bit more certain according to "Potter" fans who refuse to believe the Boy Who Lived won't be rewarded for eight excellent movies. "I think Daniel Radcliffe has this one locked up. When you look at that list, they're all fabulous," said LeakyNews.com's Melissa Anelli of Radcliffe's competition, which includes "Hunger Games" star Josh Hutcherson. "I especially love ['Drive' star] — I think he does fantastic work there. But I do think it's a clear win for Radcliffe." "His acting in these 'Harry Potter' films just got better and better over time," Sims agreed. "And of course in this final film, where Harry has to sacrifice himself, it was such a huge moment in the series, and every fan connected with Harry in that moment." Even if Radcliffe and Watson don't pull out individual wins, the "Potter" experts we spoke with said they'd be stunned if "Deathly Hallows" doesn't take home the Best Cast award. "This is definitely the award I feel most confident about for 'Potter,' " Hodges said. "We have not only Harry, Ron and Hermione — Daniel Radcliffe, Rupert Grint and Emma Watson — but also Alan Rickman, Maggie Smith and all of these lead stars who really bring together the entire cast. It's more than just the trio. It's the entire whole." "When I look at this list, I think 'Harry Potter' really does have this one," Anelli added. "The cast is so large and layered and talented. It was like the end of a symphony with this film." But even as it approaches its last shot at Golden Popcorn glory, "Potter" can't count on nostalgia alone, especially when "there's a new 'Twilight' film and a new 'Hunger Games' film on the horizon, whereas there are [no more movies] for 'Harry Potter,' " Sims said. "I think it still has a good shot because it's huge and always will be," he added. "But there are other fandoms knocking — very vibrant fandoms, who are definitely going to give it some tough competition." Head over to MovieAwards.MTV.com to vote for your favorite flicks now! Singer created a 'Candyfornia' world for 'The Sims 3: Katy Perry's Sweet Treats' game, out in June.By Christina Garibaldi Katy Perry Photo: MTV News Katy Perry is sweetening up life for "The Sims." The pop star is teaming up yet again with Electronic Arts in "The Sims 3: Katy Perry's Sweet Treats" game, available this June. Players will enter a Perry-inspired "Candyfornia," where they can outfit their Sims in an array of Perry's clothing and hairstyles and turn their neighborhoods and homes into a sweet-tooth's dream. "I loved being a part of all the creative process ... which outfit is my Sim going to have, what kind of hair color. Because when we were creating it together, I had pink hair, now I'm blue," Perry told MTV News in February. "But you now have so many options." "Sweet Treats" also features colorful items to enhance the Sims' surroundings, including a waffle-cone picnic table, cupcake-themed guitars and Perry's favorite, a banana-split sofa. "It's more costumes, more props, more 'Candyfornia,' is what I call it, to add to your 'Sims' game," Perry said. "What's awesome about this is that some of the pieces that they had made and sketched for the 'Sweet Treats' package are so cool that I think I'm going to get them made. There's this one banana-split sofa that you're sitting on the banana part and the rest of the frosting and all the ice cream, it looks like it's melting ... so cool! I'm like, 'Where can I pull all this crazy stuff?' " And while players are creating their candylicious world, they will have the pleasure of listening to Perry's hit song "Last Friday Night (T.G.I.F.)," which she recorded in the Sims' official language, Simlish. "I'm recording another song in Simlish. I've decided to record 'Last Friday Night' 'cause it's really fun," Perry said. "It seems to be a favorite of all the 'Sims' gamers." This isn't the first time that Perry has done a Simlish song. She recorded "Hot n' Cold" for "The Sims 2: Apartment Life." But even though she's recorded two songs in the Simlish language so far, by no means does she consider herself an expert. "Expert? No; it's hard," Perry said of singing in Simlish. "I have a cheat sheet, so when I go in and record 'Last Friday Night' in Simlish, I'm going to be following everything. It kind of sounds like you're speaking in tongues, which I grew up doing anyways, so I feel I have a bit of an advantage. It's not an easy feat." Perry is also featured in "The Sims 3: Showtime," which hit stores last month. Are you excited to hear "Last Friday Night" in Simlish? Let us know in the comments.

'Free,' which the singer describes as a 'playful, fresh' break-up track, is the first single off her debut album, Listen Up!By Christina Garibaldi Haley Reinhart Photo: MTV News She may not have been crowned the winner of last season's "American Idol," but that hasn't seemed to have any effect on the career of third-place finisher Haley Reinhart. The singer captivated viewers week after week on "Idol" by bringing her own soulful flare to songs like Adele's "Rolling in the Deep" and Lady Gaga's "You and I." And now, nearly a year later, the jazzy singer is finally ready to show fans who she really is with "Free," the first single off her debut album, Listen Up! "It's amazing," Reinhart told MTV News Wednesday (March 28) of the release of her single. "I know I took some time after the tour just to make things work and really worth it for me and the fans. It feels amazing to actually put it out there, my own material. I just wanted to make sure it had substance to it, and really could define me and show the artistry." Reinhart, who returned to the "Idol" stage last week to perform "Free," says it's the perfect song to define the artist she's striving to be. "I picked it out while I was touring with the 'Idols' and I was getting all these songs shipped into me," she said of "Free." "This one I just had to stop and say 'Hey this has my name written on it.' It's something that I can look in the future and see it being able to define me. It's got elements of the sultry, even hints of jazz in there." On Tuesday, Reinhart made her acting debut when she played herself on "90210," and we will see her stretch her acting ability even more when she debuts the video for "Free" on Thursday (March 29). She said the filming the video was "a dream come true." "I had this vision and the director, Christopher Sims, really brought it to life for me," she said. "There's a guy involved, it is kind of a motivational break-up song, so I wanted to keep it mature, yet have the playful scenery behind us. We put it out in a '50s-style diner and just kept it playful, fresh." And she's bringing that playful, fresh vibe to Listen Up! which features collaborations with rapper B.o.B and Reinhart's own father (whom she performed with on "Idol"). "You're going to be surprised to hear a lot of different flavors, but at the same time it all meshes well together," she said of the album, which hits stores May 22. "I show a lot of different sides. I have my roots I come from a lot of different genres, so you'll hear definitely sultriness throughout the entire thing, very retro yet modern take, and there's pop undertones in it with some funk jazz rock, it's got a lot going on." 'FINALLY, my MOVIE is coming out with Paramount this summer!' singer tweets.By Kara Warner Katy Perry Photo: Robyn Beck/ AFP/ Getty Images Get ready for a Katy Perry concert movie because it is coming your way this summer — in 3-D, of course. The Grammy-winning pop star announced the news herself via Twitter on Wednesday that "Katy Perry: Part of Me" is headed to a theater near you. "FINALLY, my MOVIE is coming out with Paramount this summer!" Perry tweeted to her nearly 16 million followers. "It's called "KATY PERRY: PART OF ME" Presented In 3D! KATYCATS-LETS TREND #KP3D" Back in early February, news broke that Paramount had approached Perry and her camp about doing a documentary-style 3-D film à la the Jonas Brothers, Miley Cyrus, Michael Jackson, Justin Bieber and "Glee" before her. Clearly the discussions went well because five weeks later, the film not only has an official title but is already slated for release. Paramount Pictures had no official comment on the film at press time. Perry's dedicated fans were quick to express their enthusiasm for the news. "Omg omg omg just died a little!" @chlo_katycat tweeted, while @VirginiaMalik12 remained slightly skeptical but optimistic in hearing about the quick turnaround from development to release. "Hah are you sure?" she tweeted at Perry. "Oh my god, i'm so excited. i will wait #KP3D .:)" Although Perry is not currently on tour, she is keeping herself busy with a variety of projects. She is featured in the new Sims video game "The Sims 3: Showtime," and is currently prepping for the March 26 release of Teenage Dream: The Complete Confection, an album that features all of her songs from her chart-topping album Teenage Dream plus some bonus tracks. "With Teenage Dream, the reasons why I wanted to put out this special edition, Complete Confection, is two major reasons for me: One, I'm doing it mostly for the hard-core fans because they always love all the extras," Perry told MTV News in Los Angeles. "The second reason I wanted to do it is because it's my one last push, to push that person that is on the precipice of becoming a fan. They're thinking to themselves, 'I bought four or five singles, maybe I should actually complete my album and now I should really complete my album because I'm gonna get 19 songs for a really great price.' I think it's like a bargain and I'm doing it for my fans." For breaking news, celebrity columns, humor and more — updated around the clock — visit MTVMoviesBlog.com. 'You can change my Sim's hair color two or three times a day if you want to, which is basically what I want to do,' Perry tells MTV News.By James Montgomery, with reporting by Christina Garibaldi Katy Perry's character in "The Sims 3: Showtime" Photo: Electronic Arts, Inc. Katy Perry's already earned her advanced degree in Simlish, having recorded a version of her hit in the fictional language of the long-running "Sims" game series. But in the upcoming "The Sims 3: Showtime," she's putting that degree to good use. "I loved being a part of the creative process — which outfits is my Sim going to have, what kind of hair color. Because when we were creating it together, I [had] pink hair, now I'm blue hair, but you have so many options," she laughed. "And with this Sims, you can be a medley of different ... career choices. Like a magician, a musician, a DJ, an acrobat and, like ... I'm going to do all of them. I feel like I'm already multitasking in real life, but in my alternate reality, as a Sim, I would love to sing 'Firework,' twirling a baton of fire while levitating, doing the splits, and DJing. It might be a little much, but it would be highly entertaining." It would, indeed. In the game, players guide their Sim on a voyage to fame, honing their craft (be it magic, tumbling, or DJing) in performances and paying their dues before eventually becoming superstars. And that's part of the reason Perry agreed to sign on to the project — after all, she knows a thing or two about that voyage. "Some of the nuances and details are really hilarious, [and] it's so layered. You could be playing the same game for years and still be discovering things, so it's awesome to be a part of it," she said. "I love that you don't have any shortcuts with your journey. ... It's great, because you actually have to pay your dues in the game, and I think it kind of, in some ways, teaches whoever's playing it a valuable life lesson that it's all about hard work and nothing comes to you on a silver platter." Of course, there are also some additional, Perry-specific perks too. "This game is very creative and very natural for me. I love that, for instance, you can change my Sim's hair color two or three times a day if you want to, which is basically what I want to do," she laughed. "I can't, or I'd have to shave my head or my hair would just fall out. So it's got so many different features." Will you check out Perry in the new "Sims" game? Let us know in the comments!
