EXCLUSIVE: WME has signed the screenwriting team of Kirsten “Kiwi” Smith and Karen McCullah, whose breakout came off the spec 10 Things I Hate About You and whose other credits include Legally Blonde, The Ugly Truth, The House Bunny and She’s The Man. They’ve established themselves as the go-to chicks for chick fare, and they are currently scripting The Expendabelles, the female spinoff of Millennium Films’ The Expendables franchise. They also scripted the romantic comedy The Panic Zone, which is out to cast. Smith has separately helmed two shorts sponsored by Glamour Magazine, both of which starred Anna Faris. She was also exec producer of Whip It! McCullah wrote and produced Crazy Kind Of Love, which opens May 31. Both are novelists. The scribes are leaving Paradigm as their longtime agent Lee Cohen becomes a consultant there. Jaret Entertainment’s Seth Jaret continues to manage them.

Not thrilled by the thought of pouring yourself a glass of veggies? Personally, I love juicing! So when Tia Mowry-Hardict told us she was a fan of Pressed Juicery green juices and had it every morning instead of a cup of coffee, I figured I needed to give it a shot. If someone can cut out coffee from their diet, my brain is wandering as to how. I tried out the Pressed Juicery Greens 6 drink and can honestly say it was way different than any other juice blend I’ve ever tasted. I couldn’t get over how you could actually taste a hint of every ingredient in the bottle. It was also nice to know that the company values a simplistic and natural ingredient list. My drink was made of spinach, honeydew, kiwi, lemongrass, cilantro—and boy, did I taste the kick of the cilantro. The ratio of cups of strawberry Greek yogurt to spinach leaves was probably 12:1. This was way different. Because it was so earthy and fresh, I felt like I picked it up at a farm stand. It’ll definitely be a good way to add more veggies into my diet for hot summer months. I definitely understand why Tia feels good drinking it! Visit their site to learn more about it! OK! There’s a certain expectation that comes with attending a horror-comedy with a ridiculously on-the-nose title. And in that respect, “Fresh Meat” delivers on its promise as a deliriously off-the-wall splatterfest with absolutely zero pretension. You could guess that Kiwi director Danny Mulheron was a Peter Jackson acolyte (he worked on Jackson’s puppet classic “Meet The Feebles”) by just closing your eyes and listening: the smack of slabs of meat slapping against each other, the screams of proudly ridiculous mega-acting, and the perfectly-calibrated physical violence that suggests a silly symphony of onscreen slapstick are all strengths that used to be exhibited in the work of Mr. Jackson, before he traded his integrity for some elf ears in Hollywood. This restless stab-fest lacks nuance and depth for the most part, which the film wears as strength during its breathlessly paced first forty five minutes. Two clans are in a collision course with each other: the Cranes...
