BEIJING (AP) — China's new leader Xi Jinping will confer with President Barack Obama next month in California, months earlier than their expected first meeting, as both sides seek to stem a drift in relations, troubled by issues from cyberspying to North Korea.

The sixth installment in the Universal Pictures franchise looks to successfully transition from street racing to heist action and kicks off this weekend in the United Kingdom today. It’s opposite Warner Bros’ The Great Gatsby (including Thursday previews) and the second week of Paramount’s Star Trek In Darkness. But Fast & Furious 6 is set in London and had its world premiere there. It opens in North America and 59 international markets day and date on May 24th with what no studio has ever dared to do: change the genre of a successful franchise. But chairman Adam Fogelson and co-chairman Donna Langley put Chris Morgan – the screenwriter of Fast Five as well as The Fast And The Furious 3: Tokyo Drift, and Fast & Furious 4 — on the script for the sixth installment, and the whiz at the crime-thriller genre (Wanted) set up Fast Five to intro a Fast Six plot revolving around a major robbery. Universal’s intent was to freshen the franchise. Dwayne Johnson (aka The Rock) is back as a federal agent alongside Vin Diesel, Paul Walker and of course director Justin Lin (behind the camera for the 4th time) and longtime producer Neal Moritz. It also stars Jordana Brewster, Michelle Rodriguez, Tyrese Gibson, Sung Kang, Gal Gadot, Chris ‘Ludacris’ Bridges, Elsa Pataky plus newcomers Luke Evans and Gina Carano.

'Twas another short week on Watch What Happens Live!, but what they lacked in quantity, they more than made up for in quality. In the clubhouse on Sunday, we saw the return of Sheree Whitfield, accompanied by Glee star Matthew Morrison. RHOC's Gretchen Rossi and The Today Show host Willie Geist giggled it up on Monday, followed by Wendy Williams flying solo on Tuesday. Closing out the (short week) on Wednesday, was Dream Team of all Dream Teams, Inside Amy Schumer comedian Amy Schumer and Scandal's Sam Goldwyn. OK! News: Read Last Week's WWHL Recap But like every week it is our duty (hehe, duty) to break down the best and worst moments that go down in that teeny tiny TV studio in NYC. Here goes: Sunday Best: Andy Cohen trying to break dance (and almost breaking a wrist). OK! News: 10 New Songs We're Obsessed With Because of Glee Sunday Worst: Sheree trying to convince us that "Chateau Sheree" will actually happen. (Seems to be a "fetch" situation, if you get our drift.) OK! Investigates: Teen Mom 2 Star is Flat Broke Monday Best: Learning all it takes to get skin as baby soft as Willie Geist's is a lifetime supply of Oil of Olay. OK! News: Savannah Guthrie is Engaged! Monday Worst: Gretchen choosing "wild" as an option in the "Las Ve-Guess" game. (Although Andy's reaction came in a close second in the "Best" category. OK! News: Meet Bravo's Newest Real Estate Star Tuesday Best: This interview was basically OK!'s Google+ Hangout with Wendy Williams Part 2! OK! News: Wendy Williams Makes a Prediction about Kim And Kanye Tuesday Worst: The sadness we feel to learn that these are not real Bravo spinoffs. WATCH: Rebel Wilson's New ABC Sitcom Trailer Wednesday Best: SCANDAL FAN FICTION (so good, it has to be in all caps): OK! News: Why We Love Amy Schumer Wednesday Worst: Sam Goldwyn not knowing what motor-boating is. Come on, Prez—haven't you ever seen Wedding Crashers? So that's that. Who was your favorite guest in the club house this week? Who's your dream guest on WWHL? Tell us in the comments or tweet us @OKMagazine.
![Official: BMW sets Guinness record for longest drift with new M5 [w/video]](/gfx/noPic.png)
Filed under: Sedan, Performance, Etc., Videos, BMW, Luxury In September of 2011, Chinese drifter Wang Qi broke the Guinness record for the world's longest sustained drift, doing 13 laps inside the Olympic Center Stadium in Tianlin, China for 5,802.3 meters. That was broken in February of this year by Abdo Feghali in Abu Dhabi drifting a new Chevrolet Camaro around a skidpad for 11,180 meters - almost seven miles. In March, BMW decided it wanted the record "back in the US," and set up a course at its BMW Performance Driving School near Greenville, South Carolina to get the job done. On May, 11 it was Mission Accomplished when Performance Center driver Johan Schwartz drifted an M5 around a skidpad continuously for 51.3 miles. Despite that accomplishment, we're pretty sure that professional drifter Vaughn Gittin, Jr. isn't impressed. The way Guinness defines "drifting" can also describe a donut, which is effectively the kind of drifting that's been done for these last three records. BMW went even further by watering down the surface of the track, reducing the skill required and the need to change tires during the effort. On the other hand, you can't drift a car for long in a straight line, but perhaps there should be some clarification or classifications added to the milestones. There's a short video below taken during the record-breaking run, and a press release from the company that did it.Continue reading BMW sets Guinness record for longest drift with new M5 [w/video]BMW sets Guinness record for longest drift with new M5 [w/video] originally appeared on Autoblog on Wed, 15 May 2013 13:00:00 EST.
