Filed under: Convertible, Performance, Lotus The first thing you need to know is that this is the Lotus Exige S Roadster, unchanged from the Exige S even in price and officially the fastest convertible Lotus has ever made. The second thing you need to know is that if you live in the US, you won't be getting this car. Now that that's out of the way, the lack of a roof, rear wing and front splitter help make it 22 pounds lighter than the coupe, coming in a 2,565 pounds, and the supercharged 3.5-liter V6 in this topless blossom discharges 345 horsepower and 295 pound-feet of torque. For historical comparison with a non-convertible, those numbers nearly match the 2004 Lotus Esprit V8 Final Run edition - which had twin Garrett turbochargers. Yet the Exige S gets from a stoplight to 60 miles per hour in 3.8 seconds, nearly a full second quicker than that Esprit. Fair play, though, the Esprit did weigh 3,040 pounds. It will be fitted with a six-speed manual only, and cost 52,900 pounds ($79,667 US), 55,378 euros ($71,404 US) or 8,500,000 yen ($82,078 US), depending on where you live. Here in the US we'll be sticking with the track-only Exige V6 Cup and Cup R models. The press release below offers more on the fine points.Continue reading Lotus offers Exige S Roadster for sale, but not in North AmericaLotus offers Exige S Roadster for sale, but not in North America originally appeared on Autoblog on Thu, 23 May 2013 17:45:00 EST. The Spike Lee-directed remake of Park Chan-wook’s cult Korean classic will now see its wide release on October 25, 2013, after FilmDistrict originally slated it for October 11. Oldboy will now bow opposite Lionsgate’s Paranormal Activity 5, which already had the date. Josh Brolin, Samuel L. Jackson, Elizabeth Olsen and Sharlto Copley star in the revenge pic, which was originally part of Park’s Vengeance trilogy that included Lady Vengeance and Sympathy For Mister Vengeance. That latter movie is also getting a U.S. remake, with Silver Reel and Lotus Entertainment announcing in Cannes that they are partnering with di Bonaventura Pictures and CJ Entertainment for an English-language version from a script by Broken City‘s Brian Tucker.
Georgia Tech will soon offer a Master's degree in Computer Science that you can receive online. This could be huge, Rob Walker writes.
When the stars descend upon the Cannes Film Festival, glamour always ensues. Naomi Watts glowed on the red carpet of the For the Love of Cinema event with a fresh makeup look with a French influence. Makeup artist Georgie Eisdell created the look and offers step-by-step instructions for your own gorgeous beauty transformation. OK! News: Alison Sweeney Reveals How She Tamed Her Sweet Tooth Face “I prepped her skin with La Mer Regenerating Serum and then La Mer Soft Cream,” says Georgie. “To even out her skin tone and create a flawless base, I used Chanel Vitalumiere Aqua Skin Perfecting Makeup, taking the edge of the shine with La Mer The Powder. For a little color and contour, I used Bobbi Brown Bronzer in Medium, and finally I added illumination to the skin with Chanel Mouche De Beaute Poudre Illuminating Powder. On her cheeks I used Bobbi Brown Cream Blush in Pale Pink to create depth and a flushed cheek. Then for a pop of color I added a wash of Laura Mercier Second Skin Color in Lotus Pink to the apples of the cheeks.” OK! News: The Little Couple Talk Parenthood Eyes “For Naomi's eyebrows I wanted to keep them soft but structured so I used Tom Ford Brow Sculptor in Blonde and extended the brows slightly to shape the face,” explains Georgie. “I kept the lids very light but illuminated. I used MAC Amber Lights Eyeshadow on the lash line blending up just a little to give a beautiful highlight. I then brought a little of the shadow under her eye to open them up. Naomi has beautiful eyes so I wanted to enhance the shape. I used MAC Carbon Eyeshadow, dampening my eyeliner brush so the shadow would turn into a soft liner and give the eye definition and depth. I lined the eye on the outer corner and gave the ends a slight flick for a flirtatious finish to the eye. I finished the eye off with two layers of YSL Faux Cil Mascara in Black.” OK! I used Chanel Rouge Allure Velvet Luminous Matte Lip Colour in La Sensuelle for a gorgeous raspberry pout.” Which celeb has flaunted the best red carpet look at Cannes this year?
