Look out HBO, AMC and Netflix, here comes...Cinemax? Yep ,that would appear to be the case as the cable company are now swinging the auteur stick around, recently bagging Steven Sodebergh's period medical drama "The Knick" and now bagging another high profile filmmaker for an equally compelling new show. Mary Elizabeth Winstead, Logan Marshall-Green and Stellan Skarsgard are slated to star in "Quarry," with John Hillcoat set to direct the pilot. So what's it all about? Based on the pulp novels by Max Allan Collins (read our review of "Quarry's Ex"), the post-Vietnam War, '70s set show will follow Max Quarry (Marshall-Green), a cold, methodical almost emotionless hitman, who takes orders from the figure known only as The Broker (Skarsgard). The Mortal Instruments: City Of Bones, the adaptation of the first of Cassandra Clare’s novels, opens August 21 in the U.S. and the UK. The trailer below is a slightly different take on the first which was released last November. Lily Collins stars as Clary, a seemingly ordinary girl who discovers she is the descendant of a line of Shadowhunters, a secret cadre of half-angel warriors locked in an ancient battle to protect our world from demons. Jamie Campbell Bower, Lena Headey, Aidan Turner, Jonathan Rhys-Meyers, Kevin Zegers and Jared Harris also star. Director Harald Zwart is starting the sequel, The Mortal Instruments: City Of Ashes, this fall. Video: Exclusive Trailer: The Mortal Instruments

Here we go again...it's the new trailer for "Beautiful Instruments: Breaking Hunger Bones." Okay, we kid, but really, how generic (and kinda low budget) does "Mortal Instruments: City Of Bones" look? Yet another YA franchise hopeful coming this summer, we're still not even sure what it's about, except that in this movie humans are called "mundanes" and that's just about perfectly describes this latest promo. Lily Collins leads the movie playing Clary Fray, a young girl who discovers she has the power to see Shadowhunters, but most importantly, the British one who likes to speak in riddles. Turns out Clary can see between worlds or something, which seems to involve hanging out at raves and battling otherworldly beings in hotel banquet halls with crossbows and shooting beams out of the palm of her hand. Or something. A prequel is already in development, which is cute and all and is par for the course these days, but we'll see if that actually happens. 'Mortal Instruments' arrives on...
