He may say he’s totally alright with a couple steaks on the grill and a cold beer, but the holiday truly calls for more than a throw together picnic and a World’s Best Dad mug. He probably has like, ten of them in the cabinet already. The key to this year’s celebration is a swanky yet masculine toast with these yummy cocktails.

1. Kilbeggan Dads Secret Dram
Recipe by Eoghan Owen Hughes, bar manager at the Knockranny House Hotel in Mayo, Ireland.
Ingredients:
2 Parts Kilbeggan Irish Whiskey
3/4 Part Fresh Squeezed Orange Juice
1 Part Honey Syrup (1/2 honey 1/2 water)
2 Dashes Orange Bitters
1 Part Egg White
Directions: Pour all ingredients into a shaker and shake to mix well. Add ice and shake for another 15 seconds. Pour into a large tumbler over ice.
2. Nordic Cider
Ingredients:
1.5 oz. Vikingfjord Vodka
.5 oz. Allspice Dram
.5 oz. Lemon Juice
1.5 oz. Apple Cider
Dash of Baked Apple Bitters
Directions: Combine ingredients into a cocktail shaker, shake with ice and strain into a rocks glass with fresh ice. Add a red apple slice for garnish.
3. VitaFrute Cocktails by VEEV
$12.95 to $14.95, Margarita, Cosmopolitan, Lemonade
4. Pepino El Pyu by Tippling Bros.
Ingredients:
1 ½ fl oz. Tequila blanco
¾ fl oz. Lemon juice?
1 fl oz.Cucumber juice?
1 fl oz. Hoja santa syrup
Directions: Add all ingredients. ?Shake over ice?. Garnish with cumin salt (in equal amounts) and cucumber spear.
For Hoja Santa Syrup:
4 tablespoons hoja santa (root beer leaf or piper auritum) sub for star anise or mint if not available Simple syrup.
Place all ingredients in a pot. Bring to a boil. Fine strain. Add 1 oz. vodka per quart and then refrigerate.
5. Cruzan New Fashion
Ingredients:
1 part Cruzan Aged Dark Rum
1 tsp. sugar (or a sugar cube)
Dash of bitters
Orange slice
A splash of club soda
Directions: Muddle the orange slice with a sugar cube and bitters in a rocks glass. Add ice and remaining ingredients and stir. Garnish at the end with a cherry.
6. Southern Smash
Ingredients:
1 oz. Alize COCO Peach
1 oz. Bourbon
1 oz. Lemon Juice
Handful of Mint
Directions: Muddle mint and lemon juice. Add other ingredients, shake, and strain into glass over crushed ice. Garnish with mint spring and lemon wedge.
7. 121 Fulton Street: The Lamp Post
Ingredients:
1 ½ oz George Dickel
1 oz apple juice
½ oz maple syrup
½ oz lemon juice
Directions: Build the cocktail over ice. Shake and strain into a martini glass. Garnish with a sprinkle of cinnamon.
