
EXCLUSIVE: The Weinstein Company‘s Vampire Academy: Blood Sisters has added the final pieces to its casting puzzle. Modern Family‘s Sarah Hyland and Vikings’ Gabriel Bryne will now also be sinking their teeth in the movie based on the books by Richelle Mead. Bryne will play Victor, the head of the Academy while Hyland will play Natalie, Victor’s daughter and the best friend of the lead Rose and Lissa characters. Lucy Fry and Zoey Deutch have already been announced as Lissa and Rose. The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo’s Joely Richardson and Dominic Sherwood have also joined the film. Richardson will play Queen Tatiana, leader of the Moroi Vampires. Sherwood will be playing Christian, Lissa’s love interest. These latest cast additions come on the heels of the announcement last week that Sami Gayle (Blue Bloods), Cameron Monaghan (Shameless), Ashley Charles (White Buffalo) and Claire Foy (White Heat) had joined the ensemble cast. CANNES, France (AP) — Associated Press journalists open their notebooks at the 2013 Cannes Film Festival:

EXCLUSIVE: Former Blues Clues co-creator and exec producer Todd Kessler will direct Scandalous!, a musical being financed and produced by Indiepelago Films partners Ancil McKain and Claire Ince. The film will star Caribbean music star Machel Montano and Bollywood’s Priya Anand and the backdrop is the Trini version of Carnival. Anand plays a woman who got engaged to a wealthy London suitor to help her father’s business. Then she meets a rugged local musician (Montano), whose charisma threatens those plans. Shooting takes place in Trinidad and Tobago in October. Montano, who has recorded with artists including Pitbull and Wyclef Jean, will produce the soundtrack. Kessler, who ended his Blues Clues so he could direct movies, most recently helmed the teen thriller Keith.
