Weekend B.O.: Warner Bros. comedy nabs $10.44 million Friday -- Warner Bros. woke up to discover that its hit comedy "The Hangover" held on to the number one box office spot in its second Friday, grossing an estimated $10.44 million at 3,355 venues. After posting strong midweek figures, the second Friday for "The Hangover" dipped 38%, giving the laffer a running eight-day cume of $82.4 million. Even though "The Hangover" is largely attracting the male demo, film's running B.O. is almost on par with that of last summer's R-rated comedy champ "Sex and the City" which raked $85.3 million from the female set in its first eight days. Disney-Pixar's "Up" stayed afloat in second place dipping just 33% in its third Friday with $8.8 million from 3,886 theaters. Similar to last weekend, there could be another close call for the number one spot between "The Hangover" and "Up" once moppet matinees are factored in favor of the Disney-Pixar release. Nonetheless, both titles are maintaining solid holds among their respective demos. With a running total B.O. of $165.5 million through its third Friday, "Up" is pacing ahead of last summer's "Wall-E" by 11% when compared over the same frame. Sony's R-rated action release "The Taking of Pelham 1 2 3" took third, pulling in $8.3 million to give helmer Tony Scott his highest opening day at the box office. According to Rentrak Theatrical, Scott's highest opening weekend belongs to 1987's "Beverly Hills Cop II" which earned $26.3 million over its Friday through Sunday frame. A remake of the 1974 heist thriller directed by Joseph Sargent, "Pelham" is playing at 3,074 sites and stars Denzel Washington, John Travolta, James Gandolfini and John Turturro. Fox's "Night at the Museum: Battle of the Smithsonian" drew $3 million in fourth off 3,365, down 35% and counting a total domestic B.O. of $136.8 million. Fifth place belonged to Universal's "Land of the Lost" which collected $2.9 million off 3,534, a 59% decline, and an eight-day cume of $28.7 million. Paramount's Eddie Murphy family film "Imagine That" bowed in sixth place with $1.8 million off 3,008.

I told you I'm working on getting the summer movie previews up and posted, and my next batch, telling you if I think the movie will be any good as well as including links to the movie sites, are up and ready for your perusal. With it you get the R-rated Johnny Depp flick, filmed in the Chicago area, "Public Enemies" hitting you in the face right before the 4th of July, and if you want to take a box of tissues to the theater, go ahead and see "My Sister's Keeper." If you're looking for Megan Fox looking hot combined with robots in disguies again, well, "Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen" comes at the end of June, and maybe you're looking for a nice thriller with Travolta as the bad man, in which case you've got "The Taking of Pelham 1 2 3." Not to be forgotten in the June mix is a movie for the kids, thanks to Eddie Murphy, called "Imagine That," and since your honey is going to want to have a romantic night out, go ahead and catch "The Proposal," that is, unless you don't want to get married. And, oh yea, can Harold Ramis and Judd Apatow go wrong? "Year One" will tell. That's it for this one! I'm The Dude on the Right!! L8R!!!
